Life Skills Mission Statement: To service students with significant cognitive disability with a modified individualzed curriculum.  This addresses indivudal sngths and weaknesses.  Lessons are generated based on individula skills assessment.  All materials and lessons are relevant and meaningful to real-world situations.  We use a multii-sensory approach to teaching in efforts to enhance learning and retention of all information.  Our overall goal is to make the students in our Life Skills program as independent as possible.  Community Based Instruction (CBI) trips are a key component to the success of our Life Skills program and are utilized throughout the year to generalize all skills learned in the classroom.

Biography: I graduated from Forsan High School, so I'm a native West Texan.  I have worked with special need children, adolescents and adults since 1980.  I've been a Life Skills Special Education teacher for the past eight years.  Currently I teach secondary Life Skills grades 6-12.  Our classroom is on the Coahoma High School campus.
